Jaymee Joaquin has been called one of the world’s sexiest girls, according to a certain lad’s magazine. But here at PLAYBOY, we like to think of her as one of the world’s hottest women with a brain worth picking. Before she was turning heads on television and making her fans, aptly called “Jaymeenatix,” proud on Games Uplate Live (GUL) and Ligaw na Bulaklak, Jaymee was a print, TV and ramp model trying her best to prove she could be more than a pretty face.
During her college days in De La Salle University, Jaymee modeled part-time, but focused more on print advertisements and TV commercials because of her 5’4” height. With only a few ramp modeling jobs in between gigs, she had the opportunity to do more sideline projects such as fashion styling, production work and event hosting. Event hosting became another passion of hers, as she discovered her knack for entertaining a live audience. After a few bar tours and events, Jaymee was given the go signal by her former modeling agent to audition for one of the VJ spots on MYX. While at the ABS-CBN network compound, she decided to take a chance and find out whether or not acting was for her.
After Jaymee had her VTR taken for Talent Center (now Star Magic) and attended a few more meetings with her new management team, she was cast in her first starring role, as a character named Peachy, in a series called Bora. The show may have ended its run, but Jaymee is still very much on the showbiz radar.
